Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 3, 2026
PulseLink is a Garmin Connect IQ app operated by Easymoat (sole proprietor: Yoshicchi). This Privacy Policy explains what data PulseLink processes, why, and the choices you have. By using PulseLink you agree to this policy.
1. Who we are
Easymoat (sole proprietor: Yoshicchi), Japan. Contact: easymoat@gmail.com. We are the data controller for the information described below.
2. What we collect
- Identity data — your watch's Device ID (an identifier the watch already carries) and a nickname you choose. This is the whole of what identifies you to us: we hold no email address, no password, and no real name.
- Activity & health data — heart rate, step count, and distance, read from your Garmin device. These are shared in real time with the other Members of the Crew you join.
- Location data (optional, on by default) — while Location sharing is on and you are a Member of a Crew, your current GPS position is read from your Garmin device and shared with the other Members of that Crew, so they can see you on the compass radar. It is used for that purpose only. You can switch it off at any time (You → Share → Location); while it is off, no position is collected.
- Crew data — which Crew you belong to, invite codes for Crews you lead, join/approval status, and the template messages you send.
- Payment data — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see, receive, or store your card number. We only receive a subscription status (active / expired) from Stripe.
We do not collect your name, address, contacts, or any advertising identifiers, and we do not build a location history or movement track. PulseLink contains no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. Location sharing can be switched off at any time; while it is on, only your latest position is shared with your Crew — never a stored trail of where you have been.
On-device profile reading (not collected). To draw certain on-watch displays — the heat-stress advisory and the body-metrics bar — PulseLink reads your weight, age and resting heart rate from your Garmin user profile. This happens only on your watch to render those displays; this profile data is never transmitted to our server, stored, or shared with anyone.
3. How we use your data
- To tell one watch from another, so your data goes to you and not to someone else (Device ID).
- To run the Crew you create or join, and to show your live heart rate, steps and distance to the other Members of that Crew.
- If you enable Location sharing, to show your current position to the other Members of your Crew on the compass radar.
- To deliver template messages between Members.
- To manage full-version subscriptions via Stripe.
Legal bases (GDPR): your explicit consent for heart-rate (health) data and for Location sharing; performance of a contract for account and Crew features; and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.
4. Who can see your data
- Other Crew Members. When you join a Crew, the Members of that Crew can see your nickname and the data you choose to share — heart rate, steps, distance, weather and location — while you are active. Each of these can be switched on or off individually at any time. You control what you share at any time (see Section 6).
- A shared image (Leaders). If you are a Leader and share a watchface image, it is delivered to your Crew members' watches; each member can choose whether to display it (the "Use Leader's" toggle).
- Stripe — our payment processor, for full-version subscriptions only.
- Garmin — your data travels over the Garmin Connect IQ platform between your watch and your phone.
We never sell your data, and we never share it with advertisers or data brokers.
5. How long we keep it
This reflects how PulseLink is actually built:
- Heart rate, steps, distance — held only in server memory as the latest value, not written to permanent storage. It is overwritten by your next update (typically within seconds to minutes) and lost entirely if the server restarts.
- Location — treated the same way: held only in server memory as your latest position, overwritten by your next update and lost if the server restarts. Turning Location sharing off clears your stored position immediately.
- Messages — stored per Crew and automatically pruned after a retention period.
- Identity data (Device ID, nickname) — kept until you erase it on the Delete my data page.
- On data deletion — your record, your uploaded images, any Crew you own, your memberships, and your messages are permanently and immediately erased.
6. Your privacy controls
PulseLink gives you these independent in-app controls:
- Manual interval — disables automatic sending; data is sent only when you choose.
- Heart-rate off — keeps steps/distance active but stops sharing heart rate specifically.
- Location off — Switch Location sharing off (You → Share → Location) and your position is no longer sent; turning it off clears any stored position immediately.
7. Your rights
Depending on your location (including under the GDPR for EU/UK users), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Delete all data associated with your watch — at any time, yourself, via the Delete my data page.
- Rectify your data — change your nickname in the Connect IQ phone app.
- Withdraw consent for health-data or Location processing — use the in-app privacy controls above (including Location off), or delete your data.
- Data portability and object to processing — contact us at easymoat@gmail.com.
EU/UK users also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.
8. Eligibility
PulseLink requires a Garmin device and a Garmin account. You must meet the eligibility and age requirements of your Garmin account to use PulseLink.
9. Security
All communication between the app and our server is encrypted in transit using HTTPS (TLS). A watch identifies itself with its Device ID, which is displayed only on the watch itself and is therefore known to its owner alone. Heart-rate, step and distance values are held only transiently in server memory (see Section 5). No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we apply measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data.
Watchface images (an optional feature) are uploaded from the website over HTTPS. When a Leader shares an image, it is relayed through our server to each Crew member's watch over HTTPS, and it is visible only within that invite-only Crew; each member can opt out at any time using the "Use Leader's" toggle. On the watch the image is rendered solely as a static bitmap through Garmin's image API — shown as pixels only, it cannot run code or access any other data on your device.
10. International transfers
Our server is hosted on Render. Depending on region, your data may be processed on servers located outside your country. We rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
11. Children
PulseLink is not directed at children below the age permitted by your Garmin account terms. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone who does not meet those requirements.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
